Bird’s Eye Chillies

Native to Africa, Bird’s Eye Chillies bring more than heat—they bring fire with character. Their sharp, intense spice once livened royal feasts and village kitchens alike. A small chilli with a fierce legacy, igniting every dish with bold spirit.


Very hot, with a Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) range typically between 50,000 – 190,000 SHU, depending on growing conditions and strain. Offers sharp, fiery heat with a fruity and slightly citrusy flavour.


Widely used in African and Portuguese-influenced cuisine. Common in hot sauces, marinades, relishes, stews, and spice blends. Can be dried, powdered, or infused in oils for added heat and flavour.
